Pottery Classes
Our pottery classes are designed to meet the recreational needs of students and are designed for beginning to intermediate levels of instruction. Students work at their own level and at projects of interest to them. Teacher instruction is individualized. Students may use the potter’s wheels or hand build projects. Classes are two hours in length, plus additional time to set up and clean up.
All classes include:
- Basic tools. Class members may bring in their own tools if they wish.
- Demonstration and instruction
- Stoneware/high fire clay. A basic fee for materials and firing is included in the cost of the class. If students make a large number of pieces, or very large projects, additional fees for materials and firing will be clarified by the instructor.
All projects need to be completed during classes. Class members are encouraged to bring in their own apron to use during class. Due to increased costs of materials and firings, fees are being reviewed to ensure that the actual costs are covered by the fees.
Contact us if you have questions about classes! We look forward to having you join us for a great opportunity to work with clay in a small group setting. Have fun, relax, come clay with us!
*Please note: *A specific schedule for each session will be published on our website, Facebook, and sent out to our mailing list when there are class openings. Returning students have priority to register and other people join the classes as spaces are available. There are no refunds within a week of the beginning of each class session. We do offer one makeup class per class series. The glazing sessions occur primarily at the end of class series, and students are asked to sign up for a specific glaze session. Students should feel comfortable lifting a 25lb bag of clay, working with their hands, and sitting at the potters wheel for extended periods of time.
